The Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) is making a visit to the SFSU’s School of Nursing this year. This is extremely important because the BRN determines whether or not the school is accredited for meeting nursing school standards and if future students will be able to sit in for the NCLEX exam. It may seem disconnected from you, but SFSU’s reputation is an aspect that will carry on with you throughout your careers. The faculty are searching for students from Level II – V and GMSN in order to speak with a representative from the BRN. There will be no faculty present, only the reviewer. There is only one BRN reviewer here for 3 days, and it is essential she receives a holistic view of the School of Nursing at SFSU. Since our school’s accreditation is at stake, this is NOT a forum for grievances, but a time for constructive critique, leadership, and diplomacy.
