Mentoring Program
What is it?
As the program title suggests, this is a Mentoring Group for Prenursing & Nursing Students enrolled at SFSU’s Nursing Program. The goal is to get your questions answered quickly by those who have already gone through the experience
How does it work?
OPTION 1: Join the Y! Group SFSU Nursing Mentor. This is a community of Mentors who are at various Levels in SFSU Nursing Program. Post a question and a Mentor will respond. You also get access to all the past top Frequenty Asked Questions.
OPTION 2: You (Mentee) will be paired with a Mentor who is at least one Level higher than your. Mentees are responsible for initiating contact and presenting their concerns in an organized fashion.
OPTION 3: You can join BOTH! 
If I’m a Mentor, won’t that be time consuming?
The program is designed such that it efficiently transfers knowledge between peers. Option 1 above does not tie you to a specific Mentee, but allows you to participate per your convenience. Option 2 allows you to flexibly arrange convenient communication times with your assigned Mentee.
The Mentoring Program is a very good opportunity for senior students to enhance their leadership, teaching and collaboration skills. You have the opportunity to lead and create a support system that sustains over the years.
